Empire Z: Alliance attacks during WAR event

Just wanted to post a few screenshots that were taken during the last  WAR event of Empire Z.  Our alliance had 2 major targets in mind and both got crushed with little to no resistance.  It was just plain old fun and we scored tier 3 prize for the alliance event.

Also a good reminder to pick your alliance wisely in Empire Z because you may end up at the receiving end of these attacks.  (Click the pics for larger size)

Empire Z- How to get free gold - Installing apps (task for gold)

Installing apps is a fast way to make free gold in Empire Z, but there are many different options to consider when installing apps for free gold in Empire Z.

It can be tricky business because sometimes it's hard to know which offers give the most gold.  Do you use the internal offers (ie Tapjoy) or use a third-party app like freemyapps and/or others

The most important factor that influence the decision to go with 3rd party app here is how generous Empire Z store specials are.  I mean right now for 5$ you get 2x 1000 gold +3.75 mil res +upgraded TP + 2day18hr of speedups and more.  That's equivalent to 50,000 gold if you used gold in the store.

So it's MUCH better to use a 3rd party to earn 5$ itunes then it is to install with Tapjoy.

My 3rd party of choice is freemyapp (download here).  I made a bit of a tutorial for another game I played (still do a bit) so you can check that out ->  Make free gems for My Singing Monster

Basically there are a lot of 3rd parties and I weight them all against a simple metrix.  How many apps do I need to install to get 5$, which is usually the minimum reward and how many friends do I need to refer to get 5$.

I look at all and any points program, I did swagbucks for a while, but it was a bit of a waste of time.  I was just looking at appnana because another EmpireZ player recommended it, but it wasn't as good (not bad though). So for example

Freemyapps is 30 apps for 5$ and 7.5 friends

while appnana is 36 apps for 5$ and 36 friends.

And that folks is why I use freemyapps.  And the fact that it works for Canadians (yes I'm Canadian).  You just have to switch your account to US.

Oh, and that some free apps earn 1$ worth in points ( that's for installing just 1 app).  I've never seen a points program like that.

So the power point is:

1) Complete offers with freemyapps

2) Complete offers with Tapjoy that are not on freemyapps
and don't forget to visit Tapjoy to get more offers

And that's it.  Not bad actually.  At this point, after playing for 40 days, I've earned over 5000 gold.  That's without paying and without hacking.  The most rewarding is yet to come as my 5$ itunes card is almost ready :)  Follow these advices and you will be well on your way to making a ton of free gold for your Empire Z city

Empire Z- How to get free gold - Playing the Casino

Playing the casino is a great way to transfer in-game points into free Empire Z gold aka premium currency.  There is no real trick to winning free gold in the Empire Z casino since it is all random, but here are a few guidelines to follow:

Note:  I've gotten 2x 1hr speedup (250 gold), +400 gold from gold box and a bunch of +150k resources all playing the casino using alliance points (ie free)

And if you're going to play the casino, might as well do it during a casino event, but NEVER during a special event because the gold boxes won't have gold in them.

So basically, after you play Empire Z for a while, you stack up alliance points for helping construction and doing alliance missions.  Go to the alliance store and redeem your points for casino chips.

then ROLL, ROLL, ROLL...

Never pay 1000 gold to open a three boxes

It's not a guaranteed way of getting free Empire Z gold, but it's a neat way to transfer free credits to real premium currency.  Not many games let you do that IMO.

Empire Z- How to get free gold - Participating in Events

Participating in event is probably the best way to get free gold in Empire Z and BIG Thanks go to Ember for making it possible to earn gold in game.  By performing well during events, it is possible to earn a lot free gold to build your Empire Z city even faster.

Certain events are easier than others and some rewards are equivalent to gold since it's what you buy with gold (ie. speedups, teleports,...)

Empire Z event- Attack infected tiles rewards

Easy Empire Z events to get free gold: 

- Attack infected tile:  been getting tier 3 reward for ever which rewards +100 gold

- Casino: just spin it once to get tier 1 reward, the rest you need high stakes key (min 50$.. no thanks)

- Capture infected leader:  this is a bit of a gamble because it may take many attacks to get 1 leader, but I have scored on the leaderboard only on this event.  Send 3 waves of 1/3 army for as long as you do damage.

- Special Event:  Holidays and special events are very rewarding if you participate actively.  I've gotten many teleport, speedups and free gold from the thanksgiving event.  I can only imagine what xmas will be like. hohoho

Medium difficulty events

-Train troops, gain power, build defenses and harvest all require high level or a lot of speedups to attain tier 3 rewards (that's where the gold hides ;)  

Hard and costly event

-WAR:  At low level, the best you can hope for is having enough hospital room for all your troops and getting hit by a bigger player.  Attacking at low level is too costly for troops that you need to grow.

Being attacked at home, in any case, is still the most favorable for this event since you can heal your troops at home.

Overall, I've collected over 5000 free gold for my Empire Z city and as my power grow, the events get easier and more rewarding.  Stick to what you can achieve and try your best, eventually you'll start winning big prizes.

Empire Z- How to get free gold - Watching Videos

The great thing about Empire Z is that there are a lot of way of getting free gold.  So let's explore the different methods of getting free gold in Empire Z

1)Watch videos for free gold in Empire Z

This is suitable for all players even beginners.  Press the + sign next to your gold amount in the upper right corner

Select Free Gold

1. Watch all available videos in the "Watch video"
2. Select "complete offers" and watch all available videos there

Reserve installing apps for later since there is a specific formula to get the maximum free gold.  This will give you 1-3 gold per video you watch and you can come back later to watch the videos again.

Best Empire Z City layout

Once the tutorial is finished you have 1 of everything, but what do you do with the rest of the city tiles?  Here is the best empire Z city layout I have found so far.

In order to get as many awards as possible quickly, ie gain power quickly, you'll build your city in this specific sequence to get the best city layout for Empire Z.  Remember that if you do this at the beginning you'll have VIP instant build 5 min on day 1 and 7 min on day 2

Front Yard has 24 spots your city layout should be:

Insta build 10 Oil rigs, then Insta teardown 5 (5 Oil rigs)

Insta build 10 Mines, then Insta teardown 5 (5 Mines)

Insta build 10 Lumber Mills, then Insta teardown 6 (4 Lumber mills)

Insta build 10 farms (10 Farms) (Tip: You soldiers dont die when you have 0 food)


Behind the fence layout has 18 spots:

Insta build 10 Hospitals, then Insta teardown 6 (4 Hospitals)

Insta build 10 Recruiting stations, then Insta teardown 6 (4 Stations)

Insta build 10 Houses (10 Houses)

-> Go redeem your empire missions <-

This setup is for faster recruiting (more houses), if you prefer larger batches then teardown 2 or more houses and replace with stations.

Once you're done, you'll have the best Empire Z city layout to get started and by redeeming the empire mission, you will have a ton of resources to keep going.

Empire Z- How to get power

Give these people POWER

Just got started playing Empire Z and you're wondering how to get more power.   Here is a short guide explaining how to get power in Empire Z.

Basically everything you do except attacking or being attacked will increase your power.  Building and upgrading buildings, training troops, building defenses and researching all get you more power.

You also gain power when collecting rewards from Empire missions.

The best way to gain power is to constantly have all your timer queues going.

Your power rating is influenced by 2 factors:  your base and your troops/defenses.

Your base power, which I call native power, is the sum of all your buildings and research.  You won't know what your native power unless you get attacked to 0 troops and 0 defenses (hopefully that wont happen to you, but if it does don't worry and rebuild)

Your total power is your native power + troops/defense power.  So the more troops and defenses you have the greater your power rating will be.  Obviously more advance troops and defense will give more power.

In the beginning the most important is to crack that 100k power bar.  Once you get there, you can be considered by the bigger alliances which will give you a certain amount of protection and benefits.

Another important consideration is the "gain power" event which will give rewards the more power you gain.  These rewards include free gold and boosts/speedups.  really nice stuff.  Find out an easy way to get great rewards from "gain power" events

Empire Z- How to get more engineers

So you started playing Empire Z and realize that you only have 1 engineer.  Now you want to know how to get more engineers for your Empire Z city...

SORRY ?(

Unfortunately you can't get more than 1 engineer ev4r.  You can't even buy more engineers with premium gold currency.  And that's not a bad thing.

If paying players where allowed to buy engineers, it would significantly change the balance of power.  Poor players like me who only play for free would be left in the dust so quickly.

Just develop your strategy around the fact that you only have 1.  Build short during the day and long at night, use VIP instant build in the beginning and when changing building types.

I wrote a guide on how to get 100,000 power in 2 days and I tested it recently to see if still worked.  IT DOES!

The answer to the question how do I get more engineers in Empire Z is NO :( but that's good :)

Empire Z Tips-  How to scavenge (harvest) faster

Wondering how to scavenge faster in Empire Z.  There are a few things you can do to scavenge faster when playing Empire Z.

There are 3 factors that influence the speed at which your soldiers scavenge resource tiles

1) Type and size of tile

2) Scavenging bonuses from research

3) Scavenging bonus from Hero


1) Type and size of tile 

When you look around your Empire Z city, you will see resource tiles of 5 types : food, wood, oil, steel and silver.  Each tile has a number from 1 to 5 indicating the size of it.  The bigger the number, the more resources are available and not only that, but the bigger tiles harvest at a faster rate

On the occupy screen (where you select which troops you will send out) look at the top right corner of the screen.  There you will see the gather speed of the tile.  Food gathers faster and steel slowest.  You may want to consider that when setting up your city's industry.


2) Scavenging bonuses from research

The 3 research that impact scavenging in Empire Z are:

 - Gathering speed:  Impact direclty the gather speed (max bonus +66%)
 - Carrying capacity:  Bigger loads = less travel time (max bonus +66%)
 - Forced march:  Faster travel = less travel time (max bonus +66%)

I favor them in order seeing as carrying capacity is very useful when leaving the game for a long while.  Forced march is better if you online all the time.

3) Scavening bonus from Hero

If you send your hero with the scavengers they will benefit from his bonuses.  More particularly the "hoarder" skill which allows for faster gathering.  Hoarder I gives up to +74% gather speed and hoarder II gives up to +111% gather speed.  For a total bonus of 185% faster harvesting... not bad.


So there you have it:  how to scavenge faster in Empire Z.  Remember that this strategy forsakes city production and will net you more resources as long as you can scavenge.  However, if you are under attack and cannot send soldiers out, your home city production will not be sufficient.

Empire Z Power leveling:  How to reach 100,000 power in 2 days

I see a lot of new players stagnate and take a long time to reach 100k in power.  I realize that not everyone wants to power level in Empire Z, but if you want to power level your Empire Z city, follow these tips

1st:  The right way to use building queue timers

-If you're actively playing your timers should always be short, unless the is an event.  
-During events, your timers should fall 1 min before the end (you can adjust this with speed-ups)
-Overnight and inactive, timers are set to max lenght (except for defenses because that can go for days)

Best Empire Z City layout

Training Troops in Empire Z

Train 100 of each, then train only pickups until you have 10,000, they are the work horse of Empire Z.  Dont' worry about defense at this time, you would get crushed anyways.  Focus on building up your research and buildings.  

Once you have 10k pickups, start building even numbers of militia and pyros till you have 30k troops.

At tier 2 troops, start dropping tier 1 troops except pickups.  Build evenly the 3 types of tier 2.  Try not to involve pickups in fights anymore, they should only be scavenging

Spending Hero points & Research

1)Research Speed (Higher learning)
2)Buidling Speed (Improved construction)
3)Recruit Speed 
4)Scavenging Speed (Hoarder)

- Research Economy 1st

Join an alliance 

They will help with build time, resources and protection.

Generally, you want to keep all your queues busy building, training and researching.

Follow this guide for power leveling in Empire Z and you'll easily reach 100k power in 2 days and 1 mil power in 30 days (if you're actively playing often).

Empire Z Power levelling:  How to win GAIN POWER event

GAIN POWER event is ON!

You started playing Empire Z and now you want to know how to win at GAIN POWER events and get prizes (free gold, free speedups and free boost are GOOD!)

The most efficient way to win at the GAIN POWER event that I found so far ( and I'm not saying it's THE best, just my best) is as follows:

Every production queue should be working (Troops, defenses and building) and the timers adjusted to end 1 min before the end of the GAIN POWER event.  Ideally, you started your timers before the event during the "starts in" period

If you're lucky, your research ends during the event.  If not, you can use speedups.  If not, whatever.

ProTip:  Save your empire missions rewards for the GAIN POWER event.  Some empire reward have +10k power.  That's tier 1 instantly and 62% of tier 2 event reward.  Sweet loot!

ProProTip:  If a GAIN POWER event follows a WAR! event and you have soldiers in the hospital, save your healing to very quickly gain power back.  Always use short timers with healing because you can ask for help and speed up the process.

There.  That's the most efficient way to win at GAIN POWER that I have so far for Empire Z.  Soon enough you'll be hitting tier 2 prizes consistently and in no time, tier 3 prizes.

Plus, if everyone in the alliance does this, mad alliance gifts too.

Surviving Empire Z:  Tips for beginners and noobs

Here are a few tips for playing Empire Z as a beginner

Be prepared to lose your soldiers.  This will happen often especially when there is a WAR event. Whether your attacking or defending, you will lose soldier.

LUCKILY, this game is about production power and how quickly you can recover and if you focus on that, it won't matter that you lose soldiers.  It will actually reward you since WAR event are usually followed by a GAIN POWER event.

1) Fill all the tiles in your city as soon as the tutorial is over.  Make use of the free VIP time you have at the beginning.  You can quickly fill and level every tile of your city with the 5min instant build you get with VIP

ProTip:  If you follow the city building advice, DON'T collect empire mission rewards until a "GAIN POWER" event.

2) Always keep your Storage Bunker at the max level.  This will proctect your resources up to a certain amount from being plundered.  Also, if you keep your resource stock at or below that level, it will make you a less desireable target for other players since they won't get loot other than coin (and apart from researching, coin is useless)

3) Focus on troop production over defenses.  Troops can scavenge and can be healed if attacked in your city.  Defenses can't.  In the beginning, you will be rather resource poor.  The cure to that is scavengers (ie troops) and not all troops carry the same amount (load).  Pickup trucks are the best for scavenging even at higher levels since they carry a lot, move fast and are cheap both to buy and maintain.  Only build defenses during a "Build defense" or "Gain Power" event or overnight if you have excess resources (over your protection level)

4) Have enough hospitals to heals all your soldiers.  When you are attacked in your empire z city, soldiers are injured instead of killed as long as your hospitals have room.  So if you have 5000 soldiers (of any kind) and you have 5k space in your hospitals, you will never lose a soul when defending.  This is also very important to save time and resources since it's cheaper and faster than training new troops.  And if you heal properly, it will be even faster and you will actually help your other alliance members get alliance points.  Read [How to heal your troops for maximum speed and reward ]

5) Do your missions (daily and alliance) religiously, especially if you're in an alliance.  Daily Missions are rewarding both in hero XP and resources (when rare or epic) and, during special events, special items.  Alliance missions are very important because they allow you to gain alliance points (used to buy speedups and boosts) and give alliance point to the alliance (which is used to supply the alliance store with the speedups and boosts).  DO NOT COLLECT empire mission rewards unless it's a "GAIN POWER" event. I repeat it because it makes a huge difference.

A note about mission refresh:  If you follow my advice about winning events, you will start collecting mission refreshers, save them for special events that reward with special items.  For example, at the time of writing this it is thanksgiving.  Empire Z is having a special event that requires you to collect and "eat" (use) thanksgiving food items like turkey and mash potato.  You can find those items as a reward for doing missions, so more missions = more special items = better ranking in the Thanksgiving event = greater rewards.

6) Find a strong alliance to get protection.  This is more or less self explanatory.  Before attacking another player I always check their alliance.  If they don't have one or it is weak I will attack.  If their alliance is strong I will refrain because I don't want to get my alliance in a war (and I don't want to get attacked needlessly).  So get into any alliance right off the bat, build your power to 100K and then join a strong alliance.  To learn how to reach 100k in 2 days check out [ProTips for Empire Z:  How to reach 100,000 power in 2 days]

7) Always harvest from higher level tiles.  Harvesting from a tile lvl 1 resource is slower than lvl 2 > lvl 3 and so on.  I'd prefer to march a little further and get a lvl 4 farm rather than a closer lvl 2.  Simple as that.  Always look around the map for the highest level resource tile to scavenger

ProTip:  Scavenge the tiles to 0, even if there's only a little bit left.  This will allow for a new resource tile to spawn and therefore replenish your farming area.

8) Keep your queues working at all times.  There are 4 queues:  3 Majors: Researching, Building, Training and 1 minor: defense building.  Always have your major queues working and when you have extra resources have the minor going too.  If you are active, I prefer to build thing with short timers and keep the long timers for overnight.  Eventually the time it takes to build things become long for everything and extra long for research, but at first it works out well.

Follow these tips for starting you game in Empire Z and you will have a good start to the game.  Also remember not to get discouraged if you get attacked and wiped out.  I was recently wiped during a war event by a 1.5 millon power player and almost quit, but it didn't take me long to bounce right back and I'm still growing in power everyday.
